Prepaid Import Duty & Taxes to the USA

Nengun Performance is based in Japan and all shipments are originating from Japan. Import duties and taxes are charged for international shipments destined to the USA in accordance to USA Customs law implemented by the US Government. 

As of 15th October 2025, for shipments destined to the USA, Nengun Performance will offer pre-paid import duty & taxes, calculated in real-time, during the checkout process. The additional payment is included in the final order total and is paid at the time of checkout. After order placement, the duties & taxes are also detailed on the order email, order detail screens, the shipment and final invoice.

To protect our customers from surprise costs and long delays, prepayment of duties, tariffs and taxes allows you to see the exact amount of import taxes and duties during checkout and pay them upfront, ensuring smooth customs clearance and direct delivery to your door. No further payment is required during delivery and Nengun Performance will handle any disputes or misclassifications with US Customs directly with the carrier. 

The calculation of duties and tariffs are performed by an authorised 3rd party in real-time. The 3rd party calculates the cost based on current US HTS classifications and value of the parts in your shopping cart. Typically the charges include a tariff of around 15% for auto parts from Japan, plus any categorised or material based tariff, plus a standard customs clearance and carrier processing fee. However, the rates and charges can vary significantly depending on US Trade Policy and shipping carrier policies at the time.

Even with these duties included, the strong U.S. dollar against the Japanese yen continues to make purchasing from Nengun an excellent value.
